BLACKINTON DESIGN PLATFORM
Working within Blackinton's mission to develop custom badges, I designed a website to get the customer involved unlike ever before. The focus of this design was to build a thorough and detailed design brief. The design brief has been a cumbersome process for Blackinton leaving important relationships unsatisfied.

BUILDING THE DESIGN BRIEF
I wanted to get the customer involved. Let them ponder, question and be inspired. When building custom badges, uncovering the layers of history and department relic is essential. The flow of the interface is to enhance their connection to their design and get them to think of important details that maybe don't come right to mind.

INSPIRATION
I find the most important part of any type of design work is inspiration. Getting the customer to give thought to characteristics like texture or shape is difficult. But this tool was designed to have them consider everything. The statue they drive by on the way to the Precinct or the shape of the bridge they cross each day. These details make their badge more than a badge. It becomes a piece of art on their chest.

STYLE
This UX was designed to give the client a chance to stylize the look and feel of their badge. This information is critical as a designer. Knowing if we are customizing the product for a conservative style vs a modern is a crucial understanding. This grab and drag scale, allows the client to show us were they are leaning.

MATERIAL AND COLOR
Choosing enamel and material is of upmost importance when building a custom badge. Sometimes these small specifications make the difference within budget. That is why we would like the client to start thinking of them while building out their brief. Blackinton is focused on keeping your original concept within budget, so this information is a must have.

CLIENT NOTE
When building out a brief in the badge field, the customer needs to answer a set of questions for the design and sales team to ensure we are building a product they are looking for. This process of the module gives the client the chance to elaborate, fill in the blank and explain in their own words what they are looking for. Once this page is completed, the client's brief will be sent along and followed up by the appropriate sales person.
